My Journey

As a mother of three, all birthed at home naturally and unmedicated, I experienced a drastic comparison between my first and second child...

With my first, I was only just developing some sense of community, living far away from my family, and largely without resources to lean into besides my Spiritual Midwifery book, I experienced what felt like extreme isolation during my postpartum journey. Although I had a supportive partner, integrating all the newness was too much for just the two of us to manage. Beautiful moments shined in between the tears, but the yearning for supportive women around me was undeniable.

By the time I birthed my second child, I had developed a beautiful moon lodge circle of women. 15 women came twice each, every other day of my postpartum healing. Stretched out in this format, I was gifted 60 days of meals, listening ears, safe arms to hold my baby, and shoulders to cry on. This support changed my life, and instilled in me a fullness and gratitude that can never be matched. This tribal style of mothers tending mothers is invaluable to our society as it allows families a positive and empowered beginning to set the tone for all that they will offer to the world in the years to come.

In between these two pregnancies, I experienced 3 consecutive miscarriages, 2 of which required medical intervention. Heartbroken and physically depleted, I searched every childbirth manual and pregnancy book I could find in search of answers. Why? What does this mean for me? How can I process this in a healthy way? How can I heal and recover? How can I encourage my body to hold life? Will I be able to have another child?

These questions pushed me to research more deeply, to question my spiritual teachers, and gather every bit of insight and information I could. Pulling from many cultures and perspectives I found wisdom and methodologies that facilitated my own healing. During my research I was introduced to Mayan abdominal massage, and after receiving this therapy, went on to birth two more healthy children. As I passed through these difficult gateways of initiatory experience, I vowed that one day I would use the knowledge I was gathering, both through research and through my own experience, to help other women through their journey with womb health, fertility, miscarriage, abortion, pregnancy loss, and healing. I began to passionately explore Mayan abdominal massage, midwifery, postpartum doula work, pregnancy loss support, women’s circles, moonlodge wisdom, indigenous healing retreats, Iboga plant medicine, and community ritual.

This pull toward healing was not new; it was the continuation of a lifelong dialogue. Since I was a child, I have felt a profound desire to connect more deeply to life, a calling that eventually led me to become a dedicated student of life. My work is deeply inspired by the teachings of thought leaders who bridge the gap between the modern world and ancestral wisdom.

I have had the priveledge to study with Moughenda Mikala of the Bwiti Tradition, learning the art of facilitating healing with master teacher Iboga Plant Medicine;  Martin Prechtel of the Tzutzujil Maya, discovering the ways in which humanity uses ritual to maintain health and connection;  Amanda Porter who shares her deep knowledge of anatomy and massage for holistic health and activation of the parasympathetic nervous system, and I draw deep inspiration from Malidoma and Sobunfu Some, whose teachings about grief and ritual permeate my life and work, and from Dr. Rosita Arvigo, whose abdominal therapy techniques provide hands on tools for deep physical and emotional healing.

Parallel to my path in birth work, I have spent the last 15 years working deeply with Iboga plant medicine. During this time, I served as the Director of Iboga Healing Costa Rica, where I facilitated sacred ceremonies and provided intensive support for participants as they navigated the complexities of integration. My time with this powerful teacher plant has shown me the profound capacity for human transformation, helping individuals dismantle old patterns to make room for their authentic selves.

Now, after 15 years of hosting transformational retreats and learning as a student of life, guiding people back to their true selves feels more vital than ever.

In these fragile times, humanity deeply needs support. I am honored to offer these healing therapies to everyone seeking connection and renewal.
